A second home invasion, this one at the downtown apartment complex The Graduate, occurred early yesterday morning when a woman awoke to five unknown men in her apartment, State College police said.

The woman yelled at the intruders, who began to flee the apartment, according to a State College police press release. As the suspects were leaving, a male student, who lives in the apartment, was returning home from work, police said.

Garden designer has book signing

Renowned garden designer Mary Palmer Dargan will sign copies of her new book, "Timeless Landscape Design: The Four-Part Master Plan," from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at Capitol Book & News, 1140 E. Fairview Ave.

The competition will feature nine finalists from more than 70 competitors, who will compete for nearly $17,000 in prizes and an appearance with the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra.
