Radiesse(R) Survey Finds Over 22 Million U.S. Women More Apt to Use a Safe, Longer-Lasting and Affordable Cosmetic ...

According to a new Radiesse "Face of Beauty" survey, over 22 million women aged 35 and older who have not used a cosmetic filler would be more likely to use an injectable filler for facial wrinkles if it were proven safe, more affordable, longer-lasting and stimulated the body's growth of collagen -- the key attributes of next- generation Radiesse(1). These findings are based on a Harris Interactive® poll of 807 women undertaken late last year and conducted on behalf of BioForm Medical, Inc., the makers of Radiesse(2).

Radiesse is the first cosmetic filler with advanced calcium-based microsphere technology that has a proven one year benefit and safety profile on par with collagen. It was recently approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.

Another apartment robbery reported

For the second time in less than a week, a group of bandits have robbed a State College apartment and fled with a host of electronic equipment.

And again the State College police are asking for the public's help in capturing the suspects.

According to police, the most recent incident happened about 4 a.m. Sunday when a woman awoke to five black men ransacking her apartment at The Graduate, 138 S. Atherton St.

The woman yelled at the men and they began to flee. About the same time, the woman's roommate came home from work and saw two of the men in his living room and three others walking down the hallway from one of the bedrooms.

One of the men hit the roommate with his shoulder and knocked the roommate out of the way as he was leaving, Detective Chris Weaver said.

ABOUT CELIAC DISEASE

What is it? Celiac disease is a genetic disorder that affects children and adults. A person with celiac disease is unable to eat foods that contain gluten, which is found in wheat and other grains. The gluten sets off an autoimmune reaction that causes the destruction of the villi in the small intestine. People with celiac disease produce antibodies that attack the intestine, causing damage and illness.

Diagnosis: Celiac disease diagnosis is done with a blood test and a biopsy of the small intestine.

Treatment: There is no cure, but many people diagnosed with celiac disease can lead healthy, normal lives by following a gluten-free diet, which means no products that come from wheat, rye or barley.

Advanced Viral Begins Phase II Dermatological Study

Advanced Viral Research Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: ADVR) a bio-pharmaceutical company, announced today that the Company has begun a Phase II study using a topically applied spray formulation of AVR 118 as a wound healing agent. Based upon the preliminary results previously seen in an animal model at the University of Miami, this study is designed to determine if a similar response can be demonstrated in humans. The study population will be divided into two cohorts of patients who will undergo a one week course of therapy.

The first cohort of patients will have undergone plastic surgery and must present a minimum of two bilateral surgical wounds. AVR118 will be applied to one wound so that the second wound will serve as an untreated control. The objective is to determine if AVR 118 can accelerate the time taken for the wound to close.
