Bank robber totes stun gun, grabs cash
A man allegedly carrying a stun gun walked into a Commerce Bank in Bulls Head yesterday, passed a threatening note, then walked away with thousands in cash. Despite a thorough description and an extensive manhunt -- which included a helicopter search and a sweep of the neighborhood -- police have yet to capture the brazen midday robber who hit the branch at 1837 Richmond Ave. Law enforcement sources say it was at least the third heist at one of the busiest bank locations in the borough in the past year. The man -- described by police and witnesses as white, about 5 feet, 11 inches tall, with a slim build, a prominent nose, acne-scarred skin and crooked teeth -- walked into the bank at about 11:45 a.m. He was possibly wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, a green army jacket and carrying a Taser-type weapon under his arm, several bank employees said.
